Is it really that simple???

It has been a long time since I have blogged about anything in here. Trust and believe that life been happening. It has been happening everyday and now….I need to get it out.

Late last night, I posted on Facebook about my daughters basketball tournament this weekend. Never have I ever been this amped about a game. But it wasn’t just about the game, it was the totality of the weekend.

It reads:

When a basketball tournament preached!!!! What those girls did this weekend was nothing short of amazing!!!! Do you really hear me??? They showed what a prayer, a changed mindset and a different attitude will do. They made a conscious decision that after what happened yesterday when they played this team of WAY OLDER PLAYERS again that they were gonna switch things up and give it all they had. They played with nothing but 5 players all weekend…..FIVE…NO SUBS….15 MINUTE HALVES ..2 MINUTE HALFTIMES …. 2 TIMEOUTS PER HALF…NO CARRY OVERS..4 GAMES…AND WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST A TEAM THAT WAS UNDEFEATED all weekend until the championship game…..I have never seen anything like this and I’m so glad I got to witness it! They had their faith and each other and it gets no better than that!!!!

I’m taking a lesson from the Fantastic 5…no matter what it looks like….get up…show up and come out swinging and if you got some folks willing to swing with you…LET’S GO!!!

In a manner of moments , these girls changed the whole game and not just on the court but in life. The day before they were upset, mad and frustrated at the game, the refs, the other team and each other. They apologized to each other and decided to change their whole mindset. The day of the championship, along with their coach, they mapped out a game plan for the court and encouraged each other to keep their cool, not get frustrated and to simply just do their best. Before they took the court, they got in a huddle and a player prayed. Everything that happened on that court after that was simply amazing and miraculous! Why was it so miraculous? Because this is the same team that beat them the day before 22-0. This is the same team that is full of sophomores, juniors and possibly seniors who were playing in a 7th/8th grade girls division (yes, they lied about their age and you could tell in more ways than one and one of our parents checked it out). This is the same team who trash talked and THOUGHT they had secured the win because of what happened the day before. What they didn’t realize is that they may have been playing the same team from before but things had changed. They had made a choice and stuck by it as a team. They decided to not be defeated before going in. They decided to switch gears. The day before they lost to that team 22-0 but the 2nd meeting, the championship, they defeated them 25-23. Read that Facebook post again above….and really see how amazing it really is and come back to finish reading….

Amazing, right? It left me thinking all last night after we go home and a lot today…wondering….is it really that simple? Can you really just make a choice, do it and begin to change the course of your life? Did simply praying a prayer and doing your part make things different? The answer to those questions is YES!

This is what I took away from it all:

  1. You cannot handle people the way you used to. Who you one knew may not be who you know now.
  2. Prayer works when you are sincere and on one accord whether it is with a group or just with God. Pray from your heart with sincerity. He knows your heart.
  3. If you want a different outcome in any area of your life, then it starts with you making a solid choice and putting in the work to bring that choice to life.
  4. You must learn to be patient. Sometimes those prayers will get answered quick while others may take a while. Be patient in the wait because I guarantee that there is a reason why it is taking so long to come to pass. Everything is done in His timing, not ours AND we must actually be ready for whatever it is we are praying for and that is solely left up to God. He knows us better than we know ourselves. You may THINK you are ready but He KNOWS when you are ready.

Needless to say, the whole weekend jumpstarted something in me and taught me some valuable lessons that I am truly taking to heart. I hope that it hits home for whoever is reading this, too. You will be amazed at what you can do when you make a decision and work that decision. You will be amazed at what happens, when you pray that simple, genuine, sincere prayer about what you need in life or when you just talk to Him about what is going on. It’s not like he doesn’t know because He knows everything. He is just waiting on you to come to Him about it. When you go to Him, He can begin that work on your behalf while you also put that work in on YOUR behalf.

So the question was is it really that simple? Once again, the answer is yes! Sometimes you need a little reminder and this was apparently mine. I have a duty to pass it on to you.

BE BLESSED!

This is is the FANTASTIC FIVE! GREAT JOB LADIES!!!

Let’s be honest

When something is said or done or not said or done, are we truly honest about how we feel about it? Do we hide our true feeling because of what the reaction may be from others? Do we keep it to ourselves because of the fear they we will be left out there alone with no one backing us up? The more important question is….should we?

Far too many times, I have been in this situation. I didn’t speak up. Things would be bothering me and I wouldn’t say a word. No matter how big or little, I wouldn’t say a word. Far too many times, I have spoken up because someone boosted me up to say something THEY wanted to say. Then when I did, they were noone where to be found or they watched me go down in flames. What do you do?

As for me, I now, pick and choose my battles. Every thing does not need a reaction. Some things are just not worth the energy or the time. If I speak on something, I know I have to be armed with nothing but the truth.

Wait vs Weight

While waiting on things to change, something to come to pass, on a storm to be over or just simply waiting on your turn, don’t get weighted down by anxiety, worry, frustration, envy, or impatience. Those things will wear you down and cause you to give up on things that are are about to show up. You may have to watch others get that house, car, husband, wife, job, promotion, start a business, get celebrated or whatever the case maybe. You may have to watch others get what exactly what you have prayed, begged, cried and pleaded for. Your time is coming and you may want one thing but He is trying to give you better. Cast the weight off your shoulders and stand up. Be patient in the wait. Your time is coming! #shewrites #shespeaks #shemotivates #sheempowers #sheinspires #s2s #sheisaboss #author #publisher #purpose #passion #blessed316 #thework #comingsoon

It’s Sunday morning. I get up and getting ready for church. I’m up earlier because of a class to be held before regular service. Get out the door on time although I’m tired and wanna stay in the bed. Stop and get my coffee. Pull up to church and not one single car. I go back to look at the message about the meeting and it was yesterday! I’m looking at my phone like It’s been so crazy the last few weeks with games, work, practice and multitasking everything trying to get things done that I simply just dropped the ball. Funny thing is normally, I get down hard on myself when I forget something or mess something up but this time…I just laughed. I laughed at myself real hard.

So now I’m sitting in this empty parking lot and thinking. I’m thinking about all the crazy stuff that has happened over the past few weeks. Thinking about how crazy stuff has been. See, I have been trying to figure out why it seems like I have been under some sort of attack. Kids acting crazy. People I don’t even know have been trying me by having such nasty attitudes and feeling like they can handle me any kind of way. Never seems like I have enough time or money to do what I need and want. Running here, there and everywhere. The insanity has been real! Then my husband, out of the blue, tells me, when we were talking about the kids and whatnot, he says “In this season, you have to be careful.” He said he felt a strong urge to tell me that. I didn’t question it because I knew it was a message…a divine one. I didn’t question it nor did I ponder it so I went right back into my insanity: crazy schedule, kid’s shenanigans, tired from running here and there.

Fast forward…here I am in this empty parking lot with my daughter. Blogging. I haven’t been able to do it in awhile. I have so many started but not published. See, in all this chaos, people have been dropping gems on me about getting rest and why so many things have been happening to me that have been trying to break me and get me out of my character. I am seeing that the enemy really messes with people that have something valuable inside of them and they are right on the verge of something great. The enemy will mess with the mind and try to knock that person off course and try to force them to give up and walk away from it all. That person is me. I know that my gift, my purpose is about to take a turn for greatness. I don’t know how. I don’t know when but I know something explosive is about to happen. The enemy doesn’t mess with anything worthless….EVER!

Why am I telling you all of this? Because that same person who is going through hell and back and don’t understand why just may be you, too.

Stay the course. I am. I know there’s a reason for all of this. Sometimes you have to go through stuff just so you can truly understand how to not only help yourself but those around you. Sometimes you have to go through things to make you tougher, to strengthen you. Sometimes you have to go through things to teach different ways to handle situations. Sometimes you have to go through things because God is trying to get your attention. No matter what the reason, keep fighting. Keep pushing!

I posted this the other day because I felt this strong urge to do so:

And the message I attached to it was:

In walking in our purpose or simply just living every day life, the enemy will try to play on our minds with negativity, stress, people and their actions, situations that seem beyond our control and things of the like. The enemy will fill us with self- doubt, fear, anxiety and try to push us til we want to give up. Don’t give in to it’s tricks. Don’t give in to that pressure. Fight back with positivity. Fight back with your pressing no matter what it looks like. Fight back with the drive that you had when you started. Fight back with loving yourself and others. Fight back with hope. Fight back with prayer. Fight back with living! Give the enemy the fight of it’s life!

This is what I’m feeling today. Although this day started off crazy, I’m motivated to keep going no matter what. I was trusted with this life to live it at all cost and am given strength every day to keep pushing. This is for you, too. Everything you have going on is for you. No matter what how good, bad or ugly life can get, you have been entrusted to see it through. It may seem hard but you are not alone. God has got your back. Keep going.

Have a great Sunday! It’s almost time for me to go in for Sunday School with my early self๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
